I've got new running shoes!

But I've only been out on them one. I went to 'Run 4 It' and they made me walk the shop floor in my bare feet.

I haven't been out on them much though. I've got a bad cold. I felt really rough on friday night, so it was an early night. I'll try to get out by the end of the week though.

More running!

Went running this morning and on tuesday as well. It's been a very long week this week. I'm absolutely shattered. I'll be very glad for this week end.

I've got a new job. Working with NHS Education. I compile quality reports and such. So it looks like fun.

I've got my glasses! I've got brass ones to match my hair, nearly, and dark red ones. I never thought my eyesight was that bad, and it probably isn't, compared to you know, people that are blind or who have worse eye sight than me. I used to be able to read the Central station arrivals board from standing out side the station on the kerb, now I have to be standing directly under it with a ladder and an eye glass. The blokie can't see the difference in the glasses, but when I'm wearing them everything looks in focus but smaller. They are also quite small frames so I can see around the frames. It feels like I'm wearing a mask, I wonder if I should try to rob banks, or save small children from burning inferno's with always the knowledge that my identity will remain a secret.

I go running in the morning - to be sung to the tune of 'If I had a hammer.'

Went running again this morning, it's really quite refreshing! Saw the same chinese couple down neer the beach. They're quite normal looking, you know, they don't look like a prozzie and her joe. They're wearning anoraks for a start. But they nod and say good morning like it's two in the afternoon. It's quite bizzare.

I think, even though I have only been running for a few weeks, I should somehow be running better. I probibly am it's just with the mp3 player I've stopped noting the time. I managed the hill up to our door. Hill is a pretty strong word for what is probibly a 0.2 degree incline, but it's over a long way. About 50 meters. I've cooled down with a couple of stretches this moring and it feels like it's helped alittle. I thought I'd done something to my back last time, to be honest. But I had a bath last night and it's not troubled me today.

There were a lot of runners this morning, and the odd person who looked like they should've stayed in their bed. I tried drinking a couple of glasses of water - kind of warm - but I still got a murder of a stitch. Am quite tired this afternoon as well, but I think that's more to do with not having enough to do at work. V. boring and it's my last day! Yey!

My dad's comming down this weekend. Just for the day I think. Don't know if we'll do anything. I need to go get my bus ticket so we'll be doing that, so after the dizzy hights of doing that we'll see if we're up to anything after.

Running in the morning.

I was going to go running yesterday but the blokie reminded me I'd promised to go to the pub and watch the Brazil vs. Croatia game. Well, he watched it I read my book. He'd met freinds in the pub so I did say to him he should have phoned me and I'd have gone for my run - Him having people to sit with and all. But if he want's my company - even though I'm book reading - I must be fabulous.

So, yeh, anyway the point of this is... I went running this morning! Me! At half six! I thought I'd be the only one about but it was quite busy at seven, with deliveries of rolls to the local shop and stuff. It feels quite weird though - like I've forgotten to do something, or have to rush home to do more than clean the dishes for my dad coming up. I was out for a little less than half an hour but I didn't do any warm up or cool down. I think that's why I'm feeling abit stiff. I also had the most monumental stitch, which was completely knackering and wouldn't go away. Next time I get some money I'm going to get some nice running gear, a set of leggings and a top that fits better than my brothers old nike wind breaker. I definately need to get a proper sports top and something to hold the mp3 player. I've been tucking it down in my bra. Which if I decide I don't like a song or something is going to get me some seriously funny looks - if it hasn't already. By twenty past seven I was back in the house and had my shower.

I'll try again on friday - to get up early. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would!

More soon,

Shortarse does it to music

I got meself a new gadget. An mp3 player. It's very small, smaller than my mobile phone, but my mobie's a brick by todays standards (the phone's very yesterday.) I was supposed to go running yesterday, but didn't, I definately went running on wednesday, just didn't blog about it.

I think the music does make a difference so I'm going to down load some more. I did three minuites running (or however long the song was) and then a song walking. I have atleast twenty minuites worth of songs, so was out that wee bit longer than usual. I'm comming out in lots of spots so I think my systems still getting used to running for the mo. The player has lot's of songs already on it - 'free' apparently - but they are all really bad bands that sound like someone more famous, does that make sence?

I'll download lots of songs and see which ones work. Today was very much trial and error. Some songs I find you can run to others you can't.

Signing off

I ran! I did! Honest I did!

It was the first of the r/w for two x5. Which I'm quite chuffed with. I'd had a rather heavy dinner with pasta and more slices of garlic bread than any one would ever actually need (especially since I dipped it in Cesear dressing - try it, it's really nice!) So for the first two minuites after warming up I actually felt like I might throw up. The first 3/5 were murder but the fourth and the fifth were great. I could have gone that bit further on the fifth run - you know time wise - but I didn't want to over do it just yet, that and I was being out stripped by passing butterflies.

It was a strange phenomenom as my legs weren't giving me as much of a stride as they usually give. That was probibly the over eating at dinner. But I'd still class it as 'running' though 'mincing' would be a more accurate term.

I've had a bath and now I'm off to bed. Still tasting that garlic bread though.

Night all.

I'm running away, who wants to come with me?

Bit of a horrendous day at work. Lots of people booking multiple meetings but then cancelling the one meeting without telling me, or their secs. Which should be a crime punnishable by tarring and feathering.

Never went running on friday. Stayed home and had a quiet night in with the blokie as was back in Glasgow for a weekend with the lucious Kate. Had the best weekend I've had in a long time. Absolutely brilliant time. Despite both of us being natives we pretended to be tourists and did all the touristy things to do in Glasgow. We went on one of the bus tours who had this shocking tour guide who just generally told lies and half truths. Went to the peoples palace and sniggered through all the old clips of stanley baxter (very funny sketchies on the language of a weegie). Went to the cinema to see Divinci Code - not really as good as it could be but Paul Betteny makes for a gorgeous looking albino! I heartily recommend that everyone who comes to Glasgow Should go see the Falkirk Wheel. We went there and it was brilliant! You really have to go see it. I thought it be this big ferris wheel but it's not.

Feel really recharged. Usually if I've done alot at the weekend I feel a bit limp on the monday, but today I feel really relaxed and rested. So am definately running tonight. First of the two by two - two minuites of running, two of walking. Will tell you how I get on.

It's the Change of the Name (to be sung rather untunefully to ABBA's 'It's the name of the game')

Er, yeh. I've changed the name of my blog. Having canvased the readership (i.e me) I've swapped the name.

Hope nobody else minds.

Will go for a run tonight. Though am first going to go and register at the local library. Which should be quite fun. I accidentally walked into a library at linkfield and the assistant there had the most marvelous under arm hair. As someone who has never been able to grow her underarm hair longer that a slight stubble, I was rather impressed. It was a lush colour of auburn (sp?)

Remember you can e-mail me at fatrc@handbag.com.

TTFN (though will probibly tell you how my run went later).
